Job Title: Assembler/Tester II

This is a Temp to Hire position, providing an opportunity to showcase your skills and potentially secure a permanent role within our organization.

Job Description:

As an Assembler/Tester II, you will play a vital role in our assembly and testing department, performing tasks such as assembling, setting relief points, testing, painting, and preparing SRV valves, MOV chokes, and other valve and choke-related products for shipment. With a focus on precision and adherence to production specifications, you will use hand tools and power tools to assemble units, conduct tests, and calibrate parts to meet tolerances and product specifications. In case of test failures, you will be responsible for identifying and repairing units as necessary. Safety and maintaining an orderly environment are essential aspects of this role.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday

7:30Am - 4:30 Pm

1 hour lunch break

Essential Functions:

  • Receive instructions and work orders, and carry out the required tasks accordingly.

  • Utilize hand tools and power tools to assemble units based on production specifications from work order kits.

  • Test and calibrate parts to meet tolerances and customer specifications outlined in the work order.

  • Identify and repair units that fail tests or tolerance levels.

  • Maintain a safe and orderly environment.

  • Clock in and out of job orders to ensure accurate labor entries.

Additional Responsibilities :

  • Maintain a daily test booth gauge log for valve setting purposes.

  • Ensure product traceability by applying serial numbers to parts.

  • Maintain Quality Assurance traceability by applying your individual stamp to parts during the assembly, setting, and testing processes.

  • Adhere to mandatory hearing and eye protection requirements due to the loud noise level in the work environment.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated proficiency in a specific area of discipline.

  • Work involves varying degrees of precision and control, emphasizing the importance of preventing damage.

  • Attention and care are required to prevent injury to others during maintenance work.

  • Work involves stooping, bending, and working in overhead structures.

  • Personal protective equipment must be worn due to noise, metal chips, and the risk of flying objects.

  • Potential hazards include severe cuts and bruises, necessitating careful enclosure of jobsites to prevent injury to others from noise and flying parts.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred; or one to three years of related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficiency in writing routine reports and correspondence. Effective communication skills when speaking before groups of customers or employees.

  • Ability to perform mathematical calculations involving whole numbers, fractions, decimals, percentages, and interpretation of bar graphs.

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Capable of dealing with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.

  • Knowledge of Visual Database software.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. Frequent walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and talking or hearing may be necessary. Occasional sitting may be required. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibrations. Occasional exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and outside weather conditions may occur. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
