Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Utilize your expertise to program mills and lathes using G-Code or conversational programming format or retrieve programs from the DNC server.

  • Operate CNC machines safely, adhering to strict safety protocols and maintaining a clean work area.

  • Demonstrate your ability to work independently, following the machining department's work instructions and procedures.

  • Maintain accurate and organized paperwork associated with your role, ensuring efficient documentation.

  • Showcase your proficiency in reading, understanding, and comprehending basic blueprints and drawings.

  • Safely handle materials using cranes and lifting devices, ensuring proper positioning and movement.

  • Prioritize work assignments based on the department schedule, demonstrating excellent time management skills.

  • Conduct general maintenance of equipment related to CNC machine operations, ensuring optimal functionality.

  • Perform quality checks throughout the production process, promptly following procedures when defective parts are identified.

  • Engage in various duties, including grinding, deburring, cleaning parts, and cutting and removing scrap.

  • Embrace the versatility of your role by undertaking any additional tasks assigned.

Knowledge & Skills:

  • Possess knowledge of reading blueprints and utilizing measuring equipment to calculate dimensions and tolerances, utilizing instruments such as micrometers and dial or digital calipers.

  • Demonstrate familiarity with machines, tools, arithmetic, algebra, geometry, raw materials, production processes, and quality control.

  • Exhibit proficiency in making precise adjustments to machine controls, ensuring accurate positions.

  • Remain vigilant, monitoring gauges, dials, and indicators to detect and address any potential machine malfunctions.

  • Show strong attention to detail, recognizing and acknowledging issues promptly without the need to solve them.

  • Maintain focus on tasks over extended periods, effectively managing time and concentration.

  • Display a solid understanding of basic mathematics and accurately complete all paperwork associated with the position.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 2 years of machining experience.

  • Trade school or Vo-Tech training is highly desirable.
