Job Description

We are looking for a Machine Tool Technician for an Oklahoma City based company who has been established in the machine tooling market since the 1950 s. As a proven leader in machine sales, this is a company who truly values it s employees.
Job Summary Powers up new, industrial machine tools such as press brakes, lathes, and bandsaws to check all functions and prepare them for shipment to customer after purchase by performing the following duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes the following, other duties may be assigned as necessary)
Starts machines and turns handwheels, knobs or handles to engage feeding. Cooling and lubricating mechanisms.
Starts machines to test their performance then observes machine operation to detect malfunctions.
Inspects machine for accuracy during operation and adjusts machine as necessary by watching the function of the machine.
Dismantle machines to gain access to and remove defective parts. Repairs or replaces defective parts.
Installs special accessories and structural parts on machines as requested by customer by positioning, adjusting and securing to the machine by using a hoist or manually.
Picks UR parts or accessories from internal Parts Department, or completes a purchase order form for parts needed, if necessary.
Reads electrical diagrams to determine instructions. Connects electrical voltage as ordered by the customer.
Reach overhead for extended periods of time using hand or power tools while performing duties related to run out and preparation of new machinery.
Uses various machine tools or files for fabricating or shaping brackets or other parts as required. Is available to come to work on a regular basis.

Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and over 1 year up of related experience and/or training.

Language Skills
Ability to speak effectively before management or other employees in the organization, and also possess the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to speak and communicate fluently in the English language.

Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages.

Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills
No special computer skills are needed in this position.

Fork Lift License Crane License
Valid Driver' s License

Other Skills and Abilities
Mechanical ability
Ability to learn and retain information
Electrical experience, welding experience or sheet metal experience are helpful.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to pass a pre-employment physical including, but not limited to, a drug test, vision test. An audiogram, and lift test.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles and risk of electrical shock.
