We are currently seeking experienced and dependable Plastic Molding Machine Operators to join the production team of one of Oklahoma’s established plastic manufacturing companies.

This is an excellent opportunity for candidates with previous injection molding, plastic manufacturing, machine operation, assembly, or production experience who are looking for steady work with a respected manufacturer.

As a Plastic Molding Machine Operator, you will play an important role in producing high-quality molded products while monitoring machinery, inspecting finished parts, and maintaining production standards throughout your shift.

Available Shifts

Multiple shifts are available depending on production needs:

• 1st Shift: 7:30 AM–4:00 PM

• 2nd Shift: 3:50 PM–12:10 AM

• 3rd Shift: 11:30 PM–8:10 AM

The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, with some Saturdays required depending on workload and production schedules.

Candidates should also be available for overtime when needed.

What You'll Be Doing

Plastic Molding Machine Operators are responsible for safely operating equipment that shapes plastic and other materials through injection molding and related manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities may include:

• Operating plastic molding and casting machinery

• Monitoring injection molding equipment throughout production runs

• Producing molded plastic components according to company specifications

• Loading raw materials into equipment

• Positioning molds and machine components

• Securing mold sections for proper operation

• Starting and stopping molding machines as required

• Monitoring machine cycles

• Removing completed molded parts

• Inspecting finished products for quality

• Identifying surface defects, flaws, or inconsistencies

• Separating defective products from acceptable parts

• Ensuring molded products meet production specifications

• Adjusting machine settings when authorized

• Monitoring molding temperature

• Monitoring material volume

• Monitoring machine pressure

• Monitoring cycle and curing times

• Assisting with machine adjustments and setup

• Supporting mold changes when required

• Helping troubleshoot basic production or quality issues

• Maintaining accurate production flow

• Keeping machinery and surrounding work areas clean and organized

• Following all production and safety procedures

• Communicating equipment or quality concerns to supervisors

Injection Molding & Machine Operation

This position is best suited for candidates who are comfortable working around automated and semi-automated production machinery.

Operators may be responsible for monitoring several important factors during the molding process, including:

• Temperature

• Pressure

• Material flow

• Injection volume

• Cycle time

• Mold positioning

• Cooling or curing time

• Product consistency

• Surface quality

Attention to detail is extremely important. Small changes in machine settings or materials can result in defective products, so operators must remain focused throughout the production process.

Quality Control Responsibilities

Machine Operators are expected to take ownership of the quality of the products being produced at their workstation.

This may include:

• Visually inspecting molded components

• Checking parts for cracks, warping, discoloration, or other defects

• Confirming finished products meet specifications

• Identifying recurring quality issues

• Reporting production concerns to leadership

• Preventing defective parts from continuing through production

• Maintaining consistency between production cycles

• Following established quality-control procedures

Candidates who are detail-oriented and take pride in producing a quality product will be the strongest fit for this position.

Mold & Process Improvement

Depending on experience and position responsibilities, employees may also assist experienced team members with:

• Mold development

• Mold setup

• Mold modifications

• Testing new molding processes

• Developing improved molding techniques

• Adjusting production procedures

• Improving efficiency

• Reducing material waste

• Reducing defective parts

• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives

Candidates with advanced injection molding knowledge may have opportunities to take on additional technical responsibilities.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

Candidates should have:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• At least 1 year of manufacturing, assembly, machine operation, or related production experience

• Experience working in a production environment

• Ability to follow detailed work instructions

• Strong attention to quality and safety

• Dependable attendance

• Ability to work effectively as part of a production team

• Ability to remain productive throughout the entire shift

• Willingness to work overtime when required

Preferred Experience

Previous experience in any of the following areas is highly desirable:

• Plastic injection molding

• Plastic manufacturing

• Injection molding machine operation

• Mold setup

Candidates with direct plastic molding or injection molding experience will be strongly considered.

Work Environment

This position is performed inside a non-climate-controlled manufacturing facility.

Applicants should be prepared to work in an industrial production environment that may include:

• Heat during warmer months

• Cooler temperatures during winter

• Manufacturing machinery

• Continuous production activity

• Moderate to high noise levels

• Repetitive tasks

• Standing and walking for extended periods

• Moving between machines and production areas

The noise level may exceed OSHA exposure limits in certain areas, and employees may be required to participate in the company's hearing conservation program and wear appropriate hearing protection.

Physical Requirements

Employees must be capable of remaining physically active throughout the shift.

Physical responsibilities may include:

• Standing for extended periods

• Walking throughout the production area

• Moving continuously between equipment

• Sitting periodically

• Reaching

• Handling molded products

• Manipulating machine controls

• Performing repetitive movements
